So, I finally ran my Windows 10 upgrade on my windows 8.1 Laptop ...
The actual Upgrade process took about 1 hr 30 mins.
For me, the biggest worry was that my Windows Live Mail would not fire up after the upgrade to Windows 10.
AND ... NERO 2015 Launcher failed in a similar way.
It seems that a required .dll file gets removed by the Windows 10 upgrade.
MSVCR110.dll
To solve that, I had to download an old version of
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4
Note: ONLY the 32 bit version solved the problem ... the 64 bit version did nothing to fix it.
This file:
VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe

Windows 10 issues - Nero 2015 Launcher fails to start - The possible fix ...

Oh, BTW ... I now have the issue where in Nero Video, I no longer see the movie in preview ... only the sound works.
I'm still working on how to solve that one.
I have both an Intel HD 4000 graphics controller as well as an Nvidia GeForce GT 650M card. -

Hello Lucky Phil,
in the most cases the NVIDIA graphic card device is recognized as "Render-Only Device" which may the cause of the reported problem. (as shown at DxDiag-log)
Please change the used graphic card device to the integrated Intel graphics and try again.
To change the graphic card devices please change the settings as following:
1. Open the 'NVIDIA Control Panel'
2. Select 'Manage 3D Settings'
3. Select the 'Program Settings' tab
4. Click 'Add' next to 'Select a program to customize:'
5. Select 'Nero Video' under the list.
6. Click 'Add Selected Program'
7. With Nero Video selected under option 1; change option '2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:' to 'Integrated graphics'.
8. Select 'Apply'
9. If Nero Video is open, close it and restart the program.- view 3 more comments

Sadly, both Nero Wave Editor and Nero Cover Designer will not run under Windows 10.
Neither will SoundTrax
(unless someone clever can come up with a fix)-
what about update failure in center?" path not found "...

After some clear thinking ...
Solved the Wave Editor; Nero Cover Designer; SoundTrax
issue of not running under Windows 10.
If you upgraded to Windows 10 .... You hopefully have a folder called:
C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS\SysWOW64
created by the upgrade.
To fix these 3 components ... just copy these 2 .dll files ...
msvcp100.dll
msvcr100.dll
From:
C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS\SysWOW64
To:
C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64
Now they should all run in Windows 10.
p.s.
Of course, this is for a 64 bit system.
For a 32 bit system, you might have to copy them from
C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS\System32
To:
C:\WINDOWS\System32- view 6 more comments

Yes, thank you Lucky Phil
(I have Win 7 Pro so have time to wait on at least one service pack to upgrade) -

I upgrade immediately and I just started up Nero to burn a disc, and run a backup, and so far, so good. Thankfully, no issues on my end. I also made sure Nero and all the apps were fully up-to-date before I performed the upgrade process.

Just to summarise the problem I had and how it was fixed :
Files MSVCP100.dll and MSCVR100.dll were not found when trying to start Nero 2014 Platinum. The problem seened to follow an update to Windiws 10 which was described as concerning Visual C + +.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Nero didn't work.
The problem was solved by a Microsoft support technician by unistalling and reinstalling Visual C + + Redistribuable 2010 x64 and x86.
I had written to Nero support and they replied that there would be an update fixing the problem. A subsequent update arrived which included files vcredist_x64.exe and vcrdist8x86.exe which I suppose are relevant to the problem. I didn't need to use them ayway, the problem was already solved. -

In most of the Windows 10 systems, NVIDIA graphic card device is recognized as "Render-Only Device".
I think there is a need to change graphic card device to the integrated Intel graphics and then try again opening the Nero in Windows 10. You can try the below steps to change the graphic devices:
1. Open the 'NVIDIA Control Panel'
2. Select 'Manage 3D Settings'
3. Select the 'Program Settings' tab
4. Click 'Add' next to 'Select a program to customize:'
5. Select 'Nero Video' under the list.
6. Click 'Add Selected Program'
7. With Nero Video selected under option 1; change option '2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:' to 'Integrated graphics'.
8. Select 'Apply'
9. If Nero Video is open, close it and restart the program.

If you're still having problems here is what I did on my Windows 10
1 - Do All Windows Updates
2 - Go to PC Settings -> Update and Recovery -> Preview Builds and update to the latest build "9879"
3 - Do All Windows Updates again and double check because some updates may not install right.
4 - Right Click the Nero icon go to properties and Compatibility and Check Run as Administrator
5 - Go to User Account Controls and set it all the way down to disable them
6- Run this app in compatible mode
