Windows 10 Update Blocked Due to Nero

Windows 10 requires that Nero - Burning Rom be uninstalled but there does not appear to be any such program on the drive. Cannot update Windows 10.
Uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 10.

  • Brent,

This issue has been raised many times, but I'm not aware of anyone providing a confirmation of any of the proposed fixes. For example, see topic How to remove non existant NERO software ;-) ??. Within that topic, there's a reference to Windows 10 Creative Update - Nero. Within that topic there are many proposed fixes. I especially like this one:

i isolved my problem by clone my SSD drive with the O/S on it onto a normal HDD. this took the upgrade no problem, I then cloned that upgraded HDD back onto the SDD and hey presto everything fine and no the 1709 wouldn't upgrade my O/S on an SSD and reported Nero was the issue, the exact same files and file structure on a HDD had no problem.....wierd I know, but I also knew Nero had never been anywhere near my PC, I built it, I knew. No thanks to Microsoft, however I did like the fact that for the past 7 months microsoft updates wouldn't work so I'm not sure if I shouldn't have stayed with the faulty install anyway, al my programs worked fine.
